State Police Charge Two with Fentanyl Possession in Idaho

Two people have been charged with fentanyl possession in Idaho as well as several other drug-related charges in Coeur d’Alene. The arrest of the charged suspects took place on Friday, June 11.

According to the details shared by ISP, the arrest occurred early on the morning of Friday in Coeur d’Alene. ISP flagged the vehicle in which the suspects were traveling and initiated a traffic stop for an alleged violation at about 1 a.m.

Three people were traveling in the vehicle when the stop was initiated. These included two adults and a teen. The adults were identified as Leigha J. Bartholomae, 35, of Coeur d’Alene, and David W. Towe, 30.

Bartholomae was driving the vehicle at the time. Upon being stopped by ISP, she admitted that she had a cartridge in the vehicle containing THC. ISP then began a more thorough search of the vehicle.

As a result of this search, ISP recovered a small bag containing fenatyl pills. Fenatyl overdose has been linked with multiple deaths in Idaho over the recent weeks. In addition to this bag, police also found a second bag of fenatyl pills at the bottom of a beverage container. During the search, ISP also recovered drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and meth.

Both Bartholomae and Towe were then taken into custody for fentanyl possession in Idaho. Bartholomae was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of controlled substance possession, as well as a single count of injury to a child.

Towe has been charged with felony concealment of evidence, misdemeanor injury to a child, and felony possession of a controlled substance. Following their arrest, both suspects were taken to the jail where they are currently being held on bail.
