Multiple Charges Filed Against DUI Driver in Boise

A number of charges have been brought against a DUI driver in Boise. The driver caused a crash after the police tried to stop him. The incident occurred over the weekend on the night of Friday, May 30.

According to the details shared by the Boise Police Department, the DUI driver in Boise was identified as Jonathan King, 43, of Boise. King had been driving recklessly in the area near Pleasant Valley road and Kuna Mora road. Witnesses saw him drive through a yard upon which they reported him to the authorities.

Once the local law enforcement officers arrived on the scene, they were able to locate King. A closer look at King revealed obvious signs of intoxication as well as evidence of alcohol consumption inside his vehicles. Based on these, the officers tried to take King into custody. However, he refused to cooperate and fled the scene.

During his attempt to escape, King crashed into a tree before driving into a fence. He also ended up hitting a police officer with the passenger door of his vehicle. His attempt met failure as the vehicle became incapacitated and he was apprehended by the officers.

A number of charges have been brought against him due to his reckless conduct. These include driving under influence, driving without privileges, resisting or obstructing a law officer, attempting to elude a police officer, as well as assault and battery on a person.

Following his arrest, King was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked into the facility. If convicted of the charges against him, King may face several years behind bars.

In Boise crashes like these, it is imperative to seek the help of a Boise felony DUI attorney as the penalties can be very stiff if the charges are proved. A good lawyer can bring up defenses pertaining to the nature of the initial stop as well as other aspects of the arrest.
